The drawing is executed in a single line style in purple ink. On the left side of the open book, there is handwritten text in purple ink that reads, "Pour les Nat. amitié 1968." The signature "Marc Chagall" is visible at the bottom right side of the right page. The background consists of plain white pages of the book.
