The image shows an etching of a figure looking out over a landscape. There is a figure close to us, partially hidden by drapery and surrounded by foliage and flowers. The scene includes various textures in the natural elements and fabric. In the distance, there is a pastoral scene with a path, a small figure, and a horse. The horizon line is towards the upper third of the image, with a softly rendered sky. The etching uses cross-hatching and stippling to create a monochromatic palette that emphasizes the contrasts in the scene.
