The image shows a lone pine tree standing tall in a forested area. The tree is slender and reaching upwards, with dense foliage at the top. The horizon line is positioned about a third from the top of the frame. The horizon shows a continuous line of darkened tree tops and possibly a distant body of water. The artwork has a monochromatic palette of greys and blacks. The sky is featureless and serene. The tree and the horizon create a sense of balance in the landscape depiction.
