Associated Names
Man Ray

Artist, American, 1890 - 1976

The image shows a man in a three-quarter position, capturing him from his torso upwards. He is seated, slightly leaning forward, with his head turned to the left of the frame and his eyes focused in that direction. The man has a serious expression, a strong jawline, and dark, wavy hair that is neatly combed. He is wearing a dark suit with a white shirt underneath and a polka-dot tie. On his left hand, which rests on his knee, a small portion is visible at the lower left of the image. The background is blurred, with indistinct shapes, but features a gradient of light and dark elements. The image has some scratches and marks, as well as the signature "Man Ray 1924" in the bottom right corner.
