This is a photograph of a horse in motion, captured sequentially. The image consists of a series of black and white frames showing a horse moving gradually. Each frame shows the horse in different positions. The horse is captured in profile as it moves from left to right in the top sequence and in the opposite direction on the bottom. This sequential study allows viewers to observe the detailed, progressive motion of the horse's legs and body. The backdrop of the photograph is plain and includes shadows cast by the horse. The grid-like layout of the photographs suggests a scientific approach to studying locomotion.
