The Picture of Dorian Gray (Edition A)

Jim Dine

1968

The image shows a full-body illustration of a person standing in a relaxed posture. The facial features are not detailed, with curly yellow hair. The person wears a white garment with a multicolored vertical scarf. Large circular decorations are drawn near the shoulders, specified as "WOOLWORTH PASTE JEWELRY ALL OVER SHOULDERS." The person's right hand is near a pocket area, and there are blue textured elements near the right side. The person holds a pair of sunglasses in their left hand. The background is off-white with scattered blue circles and a rainbow stripe on the right. The illustration is signed "DORIAN GRAY" with yellow and red smudges and a signature at the bottom.

The image contains a large yellow abstract shape resembling a light bulb at the top, connected to a thick black line that looks like an electrical cable. Below, there are meandering black and white spotted lines that create a tangled appearance. Two smaller yellow shapes with radiating lines are located towards the bottom right.
