This is a black-and-white illustration of two figures on a stone turret. One figure is looking out over the sea while the other uses a telescope. In the background, there are sailing ships with smoke billowing above them, and cannon fire is shown. The waves and splashes of the shots are depicted dynamically. The style of the drawing suggests a sense of political satire or historic commentary.
