This is a drawing of a figure humorously trying to access a building named "Académie Française." The figure is depicted with a tall hat and a playful expression, knocking on a door labeled with the institution's name while holding a book or satchel. The phrase "Frappez et on vous ouvrira!" (translated as "Knock and it shall be opened to you!") is included. The lines and shading techniques give a satirical tone to the illustration.
