This is a drawing of a train scene. The drawing features a caricatured train carriage marked "MESSAGERIES GENERALES" with exaggerated and distorted figures reaching out in distress or complaint toward a figure in a top hat standing on the platform. The characters within the train seem dramatically expressive. The illustration contains text elements at the top ("PHYSIONOMIES DES CHEMINS DE FER") and a dialogue at the bottom.
