This is a drawing of a large inflated figure hovering above a field of bayonets. The figure is labeled "COLOSSE DU NORD" (Colossus of the North) and has exaggerated features typical of caricature art. The figure appears to be losing stability and air rapidly. Below the figure are many sharp bayonets pointed upward. In the background, there are depictions of fortifications or buildings and bursts of smoke.
