This black-and-white photograph shows a group of people standing close together outdoors. In the center are five women surrounded by several men. The women have shaved heads, with sparse patches of hair visible. One woman in the bottom right corner appears to be having her head shaved. The women are wearing short-sleeved dresses with either checkered patterns or stripes. Some of the women are wiping their heads with cloths. One woman on the right appears have a woven basket hanging from one elbow, her arms crossed. The men around them are only partially visible but seem to be dressed in a variety of attire, including military uniforms and civilian clothing. The background consists of a railing or fence behind the men, with leaves or vines partially visible above.
