Artist, American, 1912 - 2006

The image shows a silhouette of horse riders against a dynamic sky filled with swirling clouds. The horizon is low, near the silhouettes of the riders and horses. The color palette is monochromatic, with deep blacks of the silhouettes and shades of gray in the sky. Spears held by riders add to the sense of movement and verticality.
