This black-and-white photograph shows a man visible from the waist up, his body turned to the right and his head turned to look at us. He has light skin and dark, curly hair. His expression is mostly neutral, although his eyebrows are slightly raised. He is wearing a dark suit over a stiff white dress shirt. In his left hand, he holds a cigarette, while his right hand is in his pocket. His right arm presses a large sheet of music to his side. The background appears to be the interior of a theater or concert hall, with rows of seats and a large, circular light fixture above. At the bottom of the picture, white shapes that might be the edges of more music sheets are visible.
