Artist, American, born Poland, 1911 - 1956

The image shows two young children seated closely together, with their bodies visible from the knees up. The child on the left is holding a rag doll closely to their chest. Both children's hair is tousled; the child on the left has short hair that just reaches past their ears, while the child on the right has slightly longer, curly hair falling to their shoulders. Their clothes appear worn, with simple patterns and noticeable marks on the fabric. The child on the left has a dress with a subtle floral pattern, while the child on the right wears a similarly patterned garment with visible patches. The background is blurred, placing emphasis on the children.
