Mrs. A.G. Thayer, Brookline, at least in 1895.[1] (Victor D. Spark, New York); (M. Knoedler & Co., New York), by 25 July 1946;[2] purchased 19 June 1947 by the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington; acquired 2015 by the National Gallery of Art.

[1] Mrs.Thayer lent the painting to an 1895 exhibition; a label on the painting's frame documents the loan.
