Painter, American, 1911 - 1960

This painting shows a person lying face down on a white towel. The individual's arms are bent and extended by their head, and their facial features are not visible. They have pale orange skin and short, dark hair. The person is shirtless and their lower body is covered with a fabric featuring teal and muted brown stripes. Their lower body is only partially visible, and it is near the bottom right corner of the painting, while their upper body stretches up the right side of the painting. Two cream-colored shoes are located towards the upper left corner. The background consists of broad strokes of muted earthy tones, with hints of blue near the top right corner, suggesting a shoreline.
