This is a drawing of two figures observing the night sky. The piece depicts an interaction between the figures, with one pointing towards a cluster of stars. Set against a backdrop of indistinct urban structures, the drawing is composed in shades of grey. The characters are dressed in 19th-century attire, one with a top hat and the other with a cap. The text at the top mentions "La Comète de 1857."
