Two men are sitting on stools with most of their bodies visible. They are hunched over, with their elbows resting on their knees and their heads slightly bowed. Both men have facial hair, wearing dark suits while smoking pipes. In the background, several paintings hang on the walls, and a large canvas displays the word "REFUSÉ." An indistinct statue or sculpture is visible on the left wall. The setting seems to be an artist's studio or gallery.
