The image shows two sailing ships from a side perspective against a misty background. The larger ship is on the right, detailed with rigging and sails, while the smaller ship is on the left, fading into the mist. The horizon is indistinct, blending with the sky. The etching technique features fine lines and cross-hatching to create texture and shadow. The color palette is subdued, using shades of gray and sepia.
