This is a painting of a figure being taken down from a cross. A large cross is at the center with a scroll at the top inscribed with "INRI." The background shows clouds. Several figures surround the cross, with one figure cradled by others with a halo around its head. The figures are detailed and in rich colors. They wear robes and ecclesiastical garments, expressing reverence and sorrow. Earthy colors, reds, and greens create a harmonious yet somber mood. The style appears expressionistic.
