This is a drawing with three people, two standing and one sitting. On the left is a woman standing with her body turned slightly to the left and her head pointed towards the right, looking over her shoulder. She wears a long dress with puffed sleeves and has her hair in an updo. One of her hands is clasped in a fist, and the other holds a small pouch. In the center stands a man facing the left, looking towards the woman. He is reaching toward the pouch she holds, with his mouth set in a smile. He wears a suit and a bow tie, and his hair is tied back, with one curl by his ear. On the right, in front of the other two people, the third person is seated at a table, writing in a large book with a feather quill. The room they are in is elaborately decorated, with several framed objects hanging on the walls and an open doorway in the center leading to another room. The drawing is surrounded by several borders of varying thicknesses in shades of brown, black, cream, and pale green.
