The image shows two women standing on a cobblestone street, facing each other and holding leashes with dogs. The woman on the left has curly hair under a bonnet and wears a long, dark coat over a patterned dress. The woman on the right has her hair mostly covered by a bonnet and wears a heavy cloak with a pattern. Both women have small dogs with them, one spotted and one with a fluffier coat. The background includes sketchy outlines of city buildings.
