This is a painting of a bald eagle with a shield and an olive branch. The central eagle is shown with outstretched wings, holding an olive branch in its right talon and arrows in its left. The eagle carries a shield with vertical red and white stripes on its chest and a banner above its head reading "E PLURIBUS UNUM." The background includes circular laurel wreaths. The style is early American folk art.
