This is a painting of a wooden shield-shaped signboard. The artwork features a rural scene and text. The name "H. ROSE." is displayed at the top, and below is a silhouette of a person holding a bird. Painted trees or bushes are on the left. The lower part of the board has the phrase "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush" over geometric intersecting lines or a structural shape. The sign has a worn and aged appearance, typical of traditional sign painting.
