This is a painting depicting a tavern sign with the words "STRANGERS RESORT" at the top and "J. CARTER" at the bottom. Two seated figures are shown at a table, each holding a drink. The table is set with a drink set and a pie. The figures are dressed in old-fashioned attire. Two hats are displayed in the design. A patterned backdrop adds decoration. The style is reminiscent of American folk art.
