This is a painting of two decorative ribbons. The left ribbon features intricate designs with an oval portrait of a figure surrounded by an ornate border, nestled within a green laurel wreath. Above the portrait is an eagle, and the text "Richmond 1865" is displayed prominently. Below, text reading "General U. S. Grant" is placed along with red and blue decorations resembling flags or shields. The right ribbon has a similar layout, featuring primarily text and decorative symbols with an eagle at the top and an indistinct wreath in the middle. The bottom of both ribbons is adorned with elements reminiscent of patriotic motifs. This painting displays elements typical of commemorative or celebratory ribbons from 1865.
