Artist, French, 1820 - 1900

The sculpture is of a winged lion with a human-like head and features. It is outdoors on a wooden platform or workbench in what appears to be a construction or renovation site, with a stone building facade and tools in the background. The sculpture is made of stone or similar solid material, as indicated by its smooth, polished surface and detailed carving. The color of the sculpture cannot be determined due to the monochromatic blue tone of the photograph. The creature is posed in a crouching position with one paw raised and wings unfurled.
