Artist, Italian, 1662 - 1747

This image displays a landscape with a rustic windmill slightly off-center and elevated above the horizon. The horizon is low, showcasing an expansive sky with stylized clouds rendered in fine, parallel lines. The brushstrokes (or engravings) detail the scene with hatching and cross-hatching for shading. Trees with dense foliage are depicted to the left, near a rocky outcrop. A dirt path leads to the windmill, where small figures are walking, with additional figures in the distance. Rolling hills with trees and buildings lead to distant rising hills. The color palette is primarily sepia, typical of engraved prints, giving the scene a nostalgic quality.
