The image is a black and white photograph taken from a ground-level perspective. The horizon is not distinctly visible. A large, irregularly shaped rock formation dominates the right side of the composition, casting a deep shadow. To the left of the rock, trees with sparse foliage are scattered. The ground is covered with low grass and small shrubs. The sky above is uniformly light. The monochrome palette captures the starkness of the landscape. At the bottom of the image, handwritten text indicates the location and date.
