The image shows a detailed engraving of Philadelphia viewed from an elevated position across water. The horizon line includes small hills and a skyline with buildings, including church spires. The print is in black and white with a historical feel. Ships with sails are on the water, some moving and others still. The cityscape is dense with buildings under a cloud-filled sky. Inset illustrations feature the State House and the Battery.
