The sculpture depicts a pair of hands resting atop each other, draped over a stack of scrolls. The hands show details of veins and folds, rendered in a creamy white material, likely marble. The cuffs of the sleeves are visible, detailed with ruffles. The sculpture is set upon a rectangular base made from darker marbled stone combining shades of red, brown, and cream.
