upper left verso in graphite: This hand forged knife made from an old file and said to date from 1850 and it represents a type common to the early settlers of WI. Files were made of very good steel and after they were worn out, the local blacksmith fashioned them into many useful articles. Donor: F.H. Reifsnider.
