This is a photograph of a beached whale with a group of people gathered around it on a coastal beach. The foreground shows the large body of the whale on the wet sand of the shore, with several figures inspecting or attending to it. In the background, there are calm waters, a distant forested shoreline, and a partly cloudy sky. The shadows of the figures and the whale on the wet sand create a reflective effect.
