The image shows two soldiers, depicted from the thighs up. One soldier, wearing a military helmet, is positioned on the left, supporting the other whose face is partly obscured with a bandage. The soldier on the left has his head slightly lowered, while the soldier on the right has visible facial hair and his hair is somewhat messy around the bandages. Both individuals are wearing military uniforms with several pockets and pouches on their chest. They appear to be on a rough, sandy terrain. The soldier on the right is leaning on the other for support, with his left hand gripping his own coat. The background is plain and minimal.
