The image depicts a group of people descending a set of stone steps. Most of the individuals have their full bodies visible, though some are slightly cropped at the top. At the center of the image is a woman wearing a black skirt suit and a matching black hat with a veil, leading two children by the hand; the children are dressed in light-colored coats, with one of them wearing a headband. The individuals have a serious demeanor, and the woman also carries a small handbag with a chain strap. Among the other people in the group are some men wearing dark suits and ties, and women in dark dresses and coats, with one woman wearing a headpiece. The background consists of more individuals dressed formally, some near large columns.
