This painting depicts a statue of a seated man facing the right, playing a violin or similar instrument. He is looking upward, his arms outstretched, holding the instrument and the bow. The man wears a jacket with a high collar and several buttons down the front and long tails in the back, as well as long pants. He is sitting on a round object, and an animal resembling a dog sits at his feet on its hind legs, its front paws up on the man's knees. The statue is painted in brownish-bronze tone, and it rests on an oval base. The background of the painting is plain paper.
