The image shows a man standing upright. He is facing slightly to the right with one hand resting against his chin while the other cradles an object. The man has a mustache, beard, long hair under a wide-brimmed hat, and is wearing a coat with a belt, knee-length britches, stockings, and shoes. A barren tree bends dramatically to his left. In the background, rolling hills and clouds are visible.
