Artist, Dutch, 1898 - 1972

The image shows a pencil drawing of a female figure depicted twice in a side view. Both figures are drawn in a minimalist style with simple, flowing lines. They are seated on the ground with their legs extended forward and slightly apart, one figure with more bent knees than the other. The first figure has her arms parallel to her body, while the second figure supports herself with her right hand on the ground and the left arm resting on her left bent knee. Neither figure shows detailed facial features, but an outline of the nose and lips is visible. The hair is styled in a single, smooth wave behind the head. The figures are not clothed, and their form is shown in a stylized manner with emphasis on the curvature of the body. There is no background detail, and the focus is on the sketched figures against a plain paper surface.
