The image shows a black and white scene, captured from ground level. A leafless or sparsely leaved tree is in the center. To the left, there is a wooden structure, possibly a building, partially visible. The horizon is not distinctly outlined, with the grassy land rising slightly. The branches of the tree span much of the image, with a ladder leaning against the trunk. The sky fills the upper third, with clouds providing texture and depth. The tonal palette ranges from deep shadows to lighter tones.
