Artist, Norwegian, 1863 - 1944

The image depicts two figures in a pastel drawing, shown from the shoulders up. The person on the left is in profile, facing right, while the person on the right is facing the viewer directly. The facial features of both figures are loosely depicted. The face on the left has more abstract features, while the face on the right has more defined eyes, with shadows and highlights emphasizing the eyes and lips. The hair of both people is dark and shown with broad strokes. Their clothing is indicated with reddish-brown and orange colors. There is a suggestion of an indoor setting with a table in between them. The background has abstract swirls and patterns in blue and green, and there is a signature by the artist Ed Munch at the bottom right.
