Artist, American, 1868 - 1952

The image shows the back of an individual sitting on the ground, weaving at a large loom. The person's arms are raised, working on the threads across the loom. Their facial features are not visible, and they wear a long, dark garment. A large tree with a thick trunk is on the left, enclosing the weaving setup. A makeshift loom made from wooden rods is in front of them. The setting is outdoors, with the loom supported by the tree. The background has blurry tones that suggest rocky faces, possibly in a canyon landscape, with diffuse lighting indicating early or late in the day.
