The image depicts a landscape dominated by earthworks, graded in layers extending into the distance. The land close to the viewer is divided into a grid-like pattern with dark patches, possibly for agriculture. Further back, there are horizontal layers of earth and gravel fill. In the distance, the terrain rises, curving around a hill and blending into natural rugged hillsides. The scene is rendered in gray tones, emphasizing textures and patterns without color distractions.
