Artist, American, 1860 - 1936

The image depicts a woman sitting on a chair, captured from the side. She is turned slightly sideways, with her left arm resting on the backrest of the chair and her right hand on her lap. Her face is in profile, showing her facial features including lips and nose. Her hair is styled back with volume on top, and she is wearing drop earrings. She is dressed in a dark-colored satin dress with lace detailing on the sleeves and neckline. The background is a plain backdrop. Her left leg is extended slightly, revealing a stocking and a shoe with a bow. There is a unique shape near her leg. The photograph seems to be a cabinet card with the name "Johnson" and a Chicago address at the bottom.
