Artist, American, 1846 - 1910

The image shows a man in a portrait capturing him from head to mid-thigh. He is standing with a relaxed posture, leaning slightly on a stone structure with his left hand. The man has a prominent mustache and short, neatly combed hair, partially visible beneath a wide-brimmed hat. He is dressed in a pinstripe suit consisting of a jacket and trousers, with a vest beneath the jacket, and a cloth sash tied around his waist. He wears gloves that appear to be fingerless and a necklace or cord around his neck. The background is plain and features a textured surface.
