The sepia-toned photograph shows a group of nine individuals arranged in three rows. All are visible from the waist up, dressed in formal Victorian attire. The men wear suits and ties, while the women wear dresses with high collars and ruffles. The men have various hairstyles, and the women's hair is elegantly styled. All have neutral expressions and are seated and standing in an orderly fashion. The background is a plain backdrop, with the names "University Singers of New Orleans" and "In Aid of Colored Orphans' Home of Louisiana" printed along the edges of the photo card.
