Artist, French, 1840 - 1893

The image shows a family of four, displaying their upper bodies as they sit together. In the center of the frame is a man seated, wearing a dark suit and bow tie, with short hair neatly combed. To his right is a young girl, also seated, wearing a dress and holding a doll. She has her hair styled and appears to be sitting on a small stool. To the man's left, a baby is seated on the lap of a woman. The woman is wearing a long-sleeved dress with a high collar and her hair is styled back with a center part. The baby is dressed in a gown and has short hair. The family poses against a plain, softly lit backdrop. The photo is enclosed in an ornate frame, featuring shades of red and an inner gold border.
