The artwork presents a landscape view of Malakoff Diggins State Historic Park, captured in a monochromatic palette. The horizon is placed high, dominated by a dense forest of tall, dark trees that stretch across the background. Below, the eroded cliffs reveal light-toned geological formations with distinct vertical textures, creating a contrast against the dark foliage. Close to us, scattered trees rise, their silhouettes adding depth to the scene. The composition highlights the interplay between the light rock formations and the dark trees.
