Artist, American, 1900 - 1993

The sculpture depicts a female figure in a long, flowing dress, her head resting on her arms on top of a pedestal or altar. To the right of the figure stands a stylized tree with sweeping, curved branches and leaves. Carved in a relief style, the sculpture presents itself in shades of gray. The entire sculpture is set within an arched frame. The sculpture's form and the detailing of the tree and figure are simplistic, yet harmonious.
