The woman is standing beside him, facing slightly towards him, and holding a small bundle. Both have wavy hair. The man wears a wide-brimmed hat, a white shirt, blue trousers, and a blue coat draped over one shoulder. The woman wears a white gown with an apron tied around her waist. They are both barefoot. A dog is beside the woman, and a rooster is near the stone steps to the right. In the background, there is a thatched cottage, stone walls, and dense, overhanging trees.
