This is a painting of the interior of a train station or waiting room. The room has wooden benches, a central potbelly stove, and vintage advertisements in the windows. The space has intricate woodwork and a patterned ceiling. Signs denote locations for "Women," "Porter," and the "Ticket Office." A broom and bucket are near the doorway, newspapers are thrown over a railing, and umbrellas and a cane are on the benches. A small red lantern hangs by the stove, and a green lantern is by one of the windows. The painting depicts an early 20th-century public interior space.
